Annual European Rheology Conference

will be held in Sevilla, Spain

26th-28th April 2022

Transdisciplinary Rheology, a bridge to sustainable progress and welfare

The AERC 2022 will be jointly organized with the Iberian Meeting on Rheology Conference, the VIII IBEREO. The Iberian conferences are organized biennially, in turns in Portugal and Spain, by enthusiastic volunteers who provide a friendly and informal atmosphere among both experienced and young rheologists.

The joint AERC-IBEREO conference is also inspired by the former IV European Rheology Conference, held in Seville in 1994, seeking to lay the foundations for a welcoming environment to provide an excellent platform for networking, giving space for debates and encouraging the exchange of ideas.

The pandemic forced us to postpone the conference that was previously scheduled for April 2021. We now hope to be able to hold the AERC2022 conference fully on-site. However, some rearrangements may still have to be taken in accordance with the applicable restrictions on health safety (e.g., by allowing online streaming for communications).

Apart from the conference, you are welcome to enjoy Seville, the capital of Spain's Andalusia region, a buoyant city whose many cultures are reflected in its cuisine, buildings, art and history. The city's historic centre will seduce you with its intoxicating mix of magnificent Mudejar palaces, baroque churches and winding medieval lanes. We cordially encourage you to experience the marvels of Seville and its surroundings: eating tapas in El Arenal, La Alameda, Triana or the city centre; walking through the narrow streets of Santa Cruz quarter or beside the Guadalquivir River looking at the astonishing Triana bridge; or drinking sangria around the modern Metropol Parasol. You should also take the time to head to one of its Flamenco clubs and enjoy the intensity of a centuries-old tradition.
