The BSR Council is saddened to have to announce the death, on Monday August 16th, 2004, of Dr W M Jones. Mervyn served the rheology community actively during a long career. He was President of the BSR from 1978 until 1980. For many years Mervyn was Custodian of the Scott Blair Collection held at the University of Wales Aberystwyth, where he was a Reader in the Department of Physics. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and colleagues.
