It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Mr Roy Doe, a TA Instruments service engineer for over 20 years and member of the BSR since 1988. Roy had been battling against serious illness for several years and passed away on Wednesday 25th June.
We often hear and praise those in the front line of the science of rheology, for furthering the boundaries of knowledge and understanding, but I would like to remind you that there are often unsung heroes, working hard in the background to provide the care and attention that ensures such scientific endeavours are possible. Roy was such a person, there is not a part of the world that has not been graced by Roy's exceptional skills to diagnose, resolve and even enhance the performance of the rheological products in his domain. Roy was certainly a character, someone that you remembered after just one visit and the world of rheology will seem a slightly emptier place without Roy.
